Firestick No Sound: How to Fix It

If your Firestick has no sound or audio issues, try these fixes.

Firestick No Sound: How to Fix It

Check TV volume and input

Make sure your TV is not muted and is on the correct input. Check if other devices have sound on the same TV.

Check Firestick audio settings

Settings > Display and Sounds > Audio. Make sure Dolby Digital Plus is set correctly. Some TVs do not support Dolby — switch to PCM if audio is missing.

Check app audio settings

Some streaming apps have their own audio settings. Check the app settings for audio output format and language.

Try a different channel

If one channel has no sound, the issue may be with that channel's stream, not your Firestick. Try several channels.

Restart Firestick

Settings > My Fire TV > Restart. This can fix audio glitches.

Check HDMI cable

A loose or damaged HDMI cable can cause audio issues. Reseat or replace the cable.
