Firestick Storage Management Guide

Firestick has limited storage (8GB). If it fills up, streaming apps can buffer or crash. Here is how to manage it.

Firestick Storage Management Guide

How to check storage

Settings > My Fire TV > Storage. You will see how much space is used and available. If under 1GB free, you need to clear space.

Clear app caches

Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > [app] > Clear Cache. This removes temporary files without deleting your login or settings.

Uninstall unused apps

Remove apps you do not use. Each app takes 50-500MB. Removing 3-4 unused apps can free significant space.

Use USB storage (4K Max only)

Firestick 4K Max supports USB storage via an adapter. You can move some apps to USB to free up internal space.

Factory reset for maximum space

If storage is critically low and clearing cache does not help, a factory reset wipes everything and starts fresh. Reinstall only the apps you need.
